Our comments regarding how we adapted as a business to Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown has been featured in the latest edition of The Business magazine.

We have also included the comments made by Alison below.

As well as demand for properties immediately reducing, we were unable to conduct any viewings or provide valuations.

We immediately furloughed our staff and applied for the various government grants that were available and then after a short period the phones and online enquiries started to come in again.

With everyone at home, visits to our website and to properties we were advertising on the various portals were higher than before.

People started thinking about both upsizing and moving to smaller properties because of Covid-19.

Investors made the most of the uncertain market and become active buying and selling properties to let and to accommodate this we began to invest more of our time and efforts into our online presence.

It also became apparent to us that we did not need a high street presence. Although our agency in Newport city centre was big enough to allow us to welcome our team back when we were allowed to do so we realised we didn’t to be there where the rents and business rates are that much higher.

We moved to larger offices in Beechwood House in the city and now enjoy ample room to continue to grow and develop the business.

The current sales and rental market are booming since lockdown and we are not able to supply enough homes to accommodate the demand.
